Friends of Yemen,

We are excited to announce that we are looking for talented Yemeni artists to design the cover of our forthcoming book, "Postcards from Arabia Felix: Adventures and Tales of Americans in Yemen." This non-profit book will be composed of reflective stories compiled and gathered from notable American individuals about their experiences in Yemen. At a time of war and despair, we hope to shed light into the simple human connections and experiences bringing Yemenis and Americans together beyond the maelstrom we repeatedly hear about in the media. Hence, the theme of the piece will be “Affinity“. The artists selected will have their work featured on the cover page of book and will win recognition for their talent.

In order to be qualified you have to:

A) Possess clear understanding of the assignment through showcasing it in the piece,

B) Send all materials prior to the deadline with your first and last name mentioned in the email, subject line.

C) Be of Yemeni descent.

Requirements:
a) Entrant’s information: name, school/occupation, age, piece title, and inspiration,
b)  Image requirement: JPEG files (preferably under 5 MB to ensure proper uploading) send to postcardsfromarabiafelix@yemeniaty.com. All entrants should be prepared to send a high-resolution print-quality file should their entry be selected,

c)  A succinct description of the artwork and how it creatively embodies the theme.

Submission opens: August 8, 2015
Deadline: September 29, 2015

،محبو اليمن

يسعدنا دعوة فنانين وفنانات يمنيين موهوبين لتصميم غلاف كتابنا القادم، "بطاقات بريدية من العربية السعيدة: مغامرات وإنطباعات أميركيين في اليمن." وسوف يتألف هذا الكتاب، الذي لا يهدف الى الربح، من قصص تم جمعها من مواطنين أمريكيين عن تجاربهم في اليمن. في هذا الوقت العصيب الذي تمربه بلادنا، زمن الحرب واليأس، نأمل أن نسلط الضوء على  التجارب الإنسانية البسيطة التي جمعت اليمنيين والأمريكيين معا  بعيدا عن الصورة السلبية  لليمن في وسائل الإعلام. وبالتالي، فإن موضوع الغلاف سيكون حول فكرة "الألفة".                                                                    ا                                                                                                
المؤهلات
أ) إمتلاك فهم واضح للعمل المطلوب من خلال التصميم المرسل
ب) إرسال جميع المواد قبل الموعد النهائي مع الأسم الأول و العائلة الى البريد الإلكتروني المذكور
ج) ان يكون او تكون يمني الجنسية

المتطلبات
أ) معلومات عن المشارك/المشاركة: الاسم، والعمل ، والعمر، وعنوان التصميم ، والإلهام وراء التصميم

ب) صورة في ملف صغير الحجم ترسل إلى postcardsfromarabiafelix@yemeniaty.com

وسوف يطلب لاحقا من المشارك الفائز ارسال ملف عالي الدقة و الجودة  لاستخدامها عند الطباعة
ج) وصف مقتضب للعمل الفني، وكيف أنه يجسد فكرة الألفة
